Your organisational is very important and needs to be securely backed up and stored to ensure it is always available to you. ImproveIT has 3-level backup process: 3 stages of backups at 3 separate locations.
Level 1 Protection - Daily Tape Backup (Site A)
RAID Storage: For applications that require a large amount of storage such as SQL Server, WebCentral uses RAID station Ultra SCSI Storage Arrays by DPT. These storage systems can accommodate seven or 14 hard disks and are fault tolerant. In the event of a hard disk failure, the system will continue to work with no data loss.
Automated Backup: WebCentral uses Exabyte and Tandberg automated tape libraries to provide complete backup coverage for all data centres. There is a total daily backup capacity of 4.9 Terabytes, with transfer rates of 160Mb/min. All backup units are automated for minimal human intervention.
Off-site Data Storage: Backup tapes are rotated off-site to storage vaults on a weekly basis. This provides added security for customers' data. The off-site vaults are thermostatically controlled, monitored for temperature and humidity and have dust filtration and pest suppression systems.
Level 2 Protection - Weekly Database Backup (Site B)
We also back up your data each week at a completely different site. This is done to further protect your data in the extremely unlikely event that our servers and backups at WebCentral are all lost due to disaster.
Level 3 Protection - Weekly CD-ROM Backup (Site C)
As per Level 2, however the backup is stored in a different location.
Level 4 Protection - Do it yourself
At any time you are able to save reports to Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel in addition to the paper copies you print out, providing you with a complete record of your corporate knowledge.
