FAQ - Improve.IT System Requirements

If my operating system/browser isn't listed, can I still use Improve.IT?
The table above lists all of the supported browsers. Improve.IT may still work just fine on a different browser or operating system than those listed above, but we cannot offer support for problems related to the browser or operating system you are using.

Why don't you support Windows 95/98 (or Mac OS 8/9)?
Our policy is to support operating systems that are supported by the manufacturer, and that have a supported browser for the operating system. As such Improve.IT does not officially support some older operating systems. If you can install and run one of the browsers in the list above on the operating system you have, you should be able to use Improve.IT, although we cannot offer support for problems related to the operating system you are using.

What about Internet Explorer 5.x on Mac?
There are a number of unresolved bugs in the Internet Explorer 5.x browser for Mac that Microsoft do not appear to plan to resolve. This has led us, reluctantly, to stop supporting this browser. Improve.IT may continue to work fine on IE for Mac, but new features aren't tested in this browser.

Which browser do you recommend?
Choosing a browser is largely a personal/subjective thing - there are many features that each browser offers that may make it better for you to use. However, we do recommend Internet Explorer 6 (or above), or Mozilla Firefox for Windows, or Safari or Mozilla Firefox for Mac OS X. Mozilla Firefox is recommended for Linux.
